Meet another 6 bartenders competing in the Hong Kong Professional Mixologist Challenge at HOFEX 2021

30 bartenders will battle it out with cocktails on the theme Journey in a Bottle. The challenge is in Hall 5E on 8 September.

King Yeung Luk – Hong Kong Jockey Club

Before working in the bar industry King was an interior designer. “I discovered my interest in cocktail-making in 2015. Many bartenders are passionate about creating classic cocktails, but I find modern interpretations more interesting – much like food, tastes are always evolving and that’s what I love.”

Sonic Chan – Pink Bottled Cocktail

As the co-founder of Ping Bottled Cocktail, Sonic is responsible for the creation of its extensive bottled cocktail menu. He has worked behind the bar full-time since he was 18, working everywhere from neighbourhood taverns to fine restaurants and upscale cocktail bars. “I am humbled to be a part of this creative community.”

Benson Chan – K11 Artus

“I have a great passion for mixology,” Benson tells us. “I like to combine different ingredients to make new cocktails and share them with colleagues and guests to get feedback. This way I can improve and when others like my creations, I feel satisfied and motivated.”

Rekkles Luk – Dr. Fern’s Gin Palour

With this competition, Rekkles is looking to challenge himself and gain more cocktail-making experience.

Andy Chau – Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Andy has worked in F&B for over six years. He passed WSET Level 2 with Distinction and recently finished the Certified Italian Wine Course with the Hong Kong Sommelier Association.

“I’m interested in beverages, and would love to gain more knowledge and experience in this competition,” he says.

Raylok Leung – Hong Kong Jockey Club

Raylok got into bartending because he was attracted by the spectrum of colours in cocktails and that drinks have different meanings behind them
